Currently Perma-Bound only has suggested titles for grades K-8 in the Science and Social Studies areas. We are working on expanding this.

MN.3501.0630.1. Artistic Interpretation: The student will understand and use artistic processes to analyze and interpret a variety of works in at least two of the three arts areas required to be offered by a school from the following: dance, music, theater, and visual arts.

1.A.1. Dance: The student will understand how the following components of dance are used to convey meaning: elements, including action, space, time, and energy; principles of choreography, such as repetition, pattern, or unity; vocabulary; styles, such as tap, ballet, or modern; and choreographic structures, such as theme and variation.

1.A.2. Dance: The student will understand the connection between a work in dance, its purpose, and its cultural and historical contexts.

1.A.3. Dance: The student will understand how the principles and vocabulary of dance are similar to and different from other arts areas, such as music, theater, or visual art.

1.A.4. Dance: The student will communicate a personal reaction to performances of original works or interpretations and performances of existing works in dance using the components of dance.

1.B.1. Music: The student will understand how the following components of music are used to convey meaning: elements, including melody, rhythm, harmony, dynamics, tone color, texture, and form; vocabulary; styles, such as blues, jazz, or opera; and structures, such as ABA.

1.B.2. Music: The student will understand the connection between a work of music, its purpose, and its cultural and historical contexts.

1.B.3. Music: The student will understand how the vocabulary of music is similar to and different from other arts areas, such as dance, theater, or visual arts.

1.B.4. Music: The student will communicate a personal reaction to performances of original works, compositions, or interpretations and performances of existing music using the components of music.

1.B.5. Music: The student will use criteria to evaluate musical performances.

1.C.1. Theater: The student will understand how the following components of theater are used to convey meaning: elements, including plot, theme, character, language, sound, and spectacle; forms, such as tragedy, comedy, farce, or melodrama; vocabulary; styles, such as romantic or classical; and structures, such as chronological or nonlinear.

1.C.2. Theater: The student will understand the connection between a work in theater, its purpose, and its cultural and historical contexts.

1.C.3. Theater: The student will understand how the forms and vocabulary of theater are similar to and different from other arts areas, such as dance, music, or visual arts.

1.C.4. Theater: The student will communicate a personal reaction to performances of original works or interpretations and performances of existing works in theater using the components of theater.

1.C.5. Theater: The student will use criteria to evaluate performances in theater.

1.D.1. Visual Arts: The student will understand how the following components of visual arts are used to convey meaning: elements, including color, line, shape, form, texture, and space; principles, such as repetition, contrast, or balance; vocabulary; styles, such as abstract or impressionist; and structures, such as two dimensional or three dimensional.

1.D.2. Visual Arts: The student understand the connection between a visual art work, its purpose, and its cultural and historical contexts.

1.D.3. Visual Arts: The student understand how the principles and vocabulary of visual art are similar to and different from other arts areas, such as dance, music, or theater.

1.D.4. Visual Arts: The student communicate a personal reaction to works in visual art using the components of visual art.

1.D.5. Visual Arts: The student use criteria to evaluate works of visual art.

2.A.1. Dance: The student will understand the following components of dance elements, including action, space, time, and energy; principles of choreography, such as repetition, pattern, or unity; vocabulary; styles, such as tap, ballet, or modern; and choreographic structures, such as theme and variation.

2.A.2. Dance: The student will understand technical skills of dance, such as alignment, locomotor, or nonlocomotor movement skills.

2.A.3. Dance: The student will understand how audience and occasion affect artistic choices in creating and performing dance.

2.A.4. Dance: The student will use artistic processes to create and perform in a variety of dance contexts.

2.A.5. Dance: The student will express and communicate ideas using the components of dance.

2.A.6. Dance: The student will use improvisation to generate ideas for artistic expression in dance.

2.A.7. Dance: The student will make and explain artistic choices in creating and performing dance.

2.A.8. Dance: The student will use feedback to revise both creation and performance of dance.
