Collection Development Librarian

Perma-Bound Books is seeking a Collection Development Librarian. This positions involves but is not limited to:

  • Act as a reliable library resource for customers, Perma-Bound Sales Reps, and Peers with questions regarding Library Collections.
  • Develop & Maintain basic, balanced opening day collections for Elementary, Middle, & High School Levels for our website. There are four cumulative collections for each level to address four different budgets.
  • Work directly with customers and Perma-Bound Sales Reps to build custom Library & Classroom collections.
  • Manage Collections Work Queue program (CVD)
  • Build various types of collections: Balanced Opening Day Collections, CAP Collections, Leveled Collections, Genre Collections, Subject Collections, Specialized Collections, Etc.
  • Interface with Peers to collaborate resources and manage time sensitive marketing projects that require our assistance in building collections. (Catalogs, Brochures, Web Facing Materials)
  • Stay current with trends in Libraries and Curriculum through approved Webinars and Conferences, and online training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • MLS Certification
  • Teaching Certificate with experience in Library Services
  • Professional Organization Memberships preferred
  • Peer Organizations related to Library Services preferred

Library Services Supervisor -- Collection Development / Title Acquisition

Perma-Bound Books is seeking a Supervisor of Library Services. This positions involves but is not limited to:

  • Manage a team of highly qualified and motivated librarians and teachers to create and develop various types of collections: Balanced Opening Day Collections, CAP Collections, Leveled Collections, Genre Collections, Subject Collections, Specialized Collections, Project collections for Marketing, Etc.
  • Interface with Marketing on upcoming projects, formats, due dates and content changes. (Catalogs, Brochures, Web Facing Materials)
  • Establish and maintain schedules to include all employees for time sensitive projects; Collections, Marketing Projects, Web Updates, Publisher Projects
  • Work collaboratively with employees to complete assignments on time. Provide Assistance with Collection Development assignments as needed to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Act as a reliable Library and Curriculum information resource for Customers, Perma-Bound Sales Reps, and Peers with questions pertaining to Collections or Curriculum.
  • Work directly with customers and Perma-Bound Sales Reps to answer questions, establish collection guidelines and to build custom Library & Classroom collections.
  • Oversee Collections Work Queue program (CDV) for collection priority and documentation.
  • Oversee Curriculum collections and classroom collections for topic and content.
  • Through Acquisitions: Work with Educational Publishers to add titles to our database. All titles should be added. Hardcover/Library Binding/ and Paperback where we have permission to carry.
  • Evaluate titles to Inventory and to rebind as Perma-Bound. Review sales, consider topic or theme, Dewey or Genre in the evaluation. Can we make sales if we inventory?
  • Meet with Publishers to review new titles, prepare tip sheets with info for Database Manager for Inventory/Non-inventory and relevant tags
  • Negotiate discount increases, promotions, and sales opportunities
  • Work with Database Manager to Review Data Tip sheets for adds and the formatted metadata before it is sent to be added by IT.
  • Monitor the Shared PI2 doc with publisher information maintained by Database manager. Compare to PI2
  • Review price check doc quarterly as the price checks are performed. (This info is shared w/CFO for pricing considerations.)
  • Stay current with trends in Libraries, Curriculum, and Title Acquisition through approved Webinars and Conferences, as well as online training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • MLS Certification
  • MS or MA (in field of Education)
  • Teaching Certificate with experience in Curriculum / Library Services
  • Professional Organization Memberships preferred
  • Peer Organizations related to Library Services preferred

Library Services - Title Acquisition Specialist

Perma-Bound Books is seeking a Title Acquisition Specialist. This positions involves but is not limited to:

  • Act as a reliable Title Data source for customers, Perma-Bound Sales Reps, and Peers with questions regarding Educational Titles.
  • Maintain Shared PI2 doc with current publisher information.
  • Communicate with Educational Publishers for Metadata.
  • Format Metadata for ads, changes, price updates. Spot check data after added for Accuracy on web.
  • Perform publisher check bi-annually (PCE) Check prices, Compare prices, Price Calcs, Discounts. Evaluate for updates/corrections.
  • Work directly with Customers, Sales Reps, & Peers to build various types of collections: Balanced Opening Day Collections, CAP Collections, Leveled Collections, Genre Collections, Subject Collections, Specialized Collections, Etc.
  • Interface with Peers to collaborate resources and manage time sensitive marketing projects that require our assistance in building collections. (Catalogs, Brochures, Web Facing Materials)

Perma-Bound Books is seeking a Sales Coordinator. This positions involves but is not limited to:

  • Working with bids and bid applications.
  • Maintaining contracts for states, governments and districts.
  • Pulling together data to create large quotes and proposals.
  • Perform Monthly/Quarterly/Annual reporting
  • Registering with districts on bid applications

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Must have experience with Google Docs and Adobe Acrobat
  • Be able to multi task and maintain a high level of organization
  • Be able to communicate effectively and efficiently

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred but not required
