AL.WL. Writing and Language - Students will:
WL.9. Compose in descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive modes with a thesis sentence and introductory, supporting, and concluding paragraphs when appropriate.

WL.9.2. Composing various genres of literature by imitating an author's style, form, and purpose
WL.9.3. Using figurative language when writing in various genres
WL.10. Apply mechanics in writing, including commas to set off nouns of address and following introductory phrases and clauses.
