Jen Arena is lucky to have been surrounded by kids’ books her whole life. She fell in love with reading as a little girl and, as a teenager, got a job at a children’s bookstore in Pennsylvania. After graduating from college, she worked in children's book publishing in New York City, first for Putnam, then Golden Books, and finally at Random House. She’s now a full-time author and editor and lives in sunny Tampa, FL.

Jen likes to write books that are both fun and informative, starring adventurous characters, such as Give, Lady Liberty’s Holiday, Acorn Was a Little Wild, and Marta! Big and Small.
