A Face Lift and New Features for Fall 2010

More than likely, you've noticed some major changes to our web site. We've been listening to your requests and hope that our three new websites tailored to fit your unique and exact needs fully meet your expectations. Along with these upgrades to our websites we have implemented all of the additional upgrades as well. We hope that you enjoy using these new features and functions, and continue to find all of the Perma-Bound.com's your websites of choice.

The New Look

The new face of Perma-Bound.com

In an effort to provide the most useful information to all of our valued customers, we have divided up the vast amount of web pages, links, resources, programs, features, reference pieces, and everything else that were previously contained on just our one Perma-Bound.com site onto three brand new websites! Each of these new sites is tailored to fit the needs and present the information most relevant to that group of users. But don't worry, all of the same great features, functions, link locations, and search results that you were used to before have remained the same.

NOTE: Any of these new URLs can be saved in your browser favorites and/or bookmarks to make return visits easy!

NOTE: This old URL will still remain active and serve as the main landing page for users to select which site they want to go to.

You may of course visit any of these sites that you wish. The default website you view will be determined initially by your job title on your account profile. If you wish to have another site as your default, please update your title to a more accurate one.

Easy Search

The new way to search!

This new search feature is designed with one thing in mind—to save you time! Easy Search is designed to allow input of any one of the following types of search criteria and bring back the matching results. So that means no more toggling back and forth between the other search methods.

NOTE: You can use the following Boolean operator words and/or symbols to broaden or narrow down your search even further.

• AND
• OR
• NOT
• + (addition symbol)
• - (subtraction symbol)
• "Quotation marks"

Search Hinters

Another new feature of Easy Search is the ability for it to automatically know what kinds of searches will bring back results based on the word(s) you are searching for. Those search "hints" are displayed in the drop-down menu directly below the Easy Search box. You can then use your arrow keys or your mouse to select one of those search hints and perform the search. In addition to the hints, it will also offer actual title suggestions as well. Those are based off of a custom built weighting program to display the most popular and most relevant titles within the box.

NOTE: If you prefer to just perform a regular Easy Search and don't want to select something in the Search Hint box, just click on the magnifying glass or hit 'Enter' on your keyboard to perform the search.

Where is Easy Search?

You can find Easy Search in the upper right-hand corner of every page of our site. Just start typing your search term(s) in the Easy Search box and watch and it performs its magic!

Short Stories Search

Are you looking for a specific short story, or a short story by a specific author? Well this new search feature is going to be your new best friend.

Access to search for short stories is available in two different locations. You can view the Short Stories page below and search directly from that page, or you can click on the 'Advanced Search' link located in the upper right-hand corner on every page of the site and find the 'Short Story' option in the first 'Narrow By' drop-down box.

My Account Updates

In an effort to increase the usefulness of your My Account page and make everything more readily available at the click of your mouse, we have updated the look of your My Account page. All of the existing features and functions are still there, we just gave it a new more logical presentation.

Look for the Tabs

The left-hand menu of the My Account page has been restructured to make everything easier to find and see, and utilizes the new hover over/slide-out style menus. In addition to the left-hand menu we have also added tabs to the top of almost every section on your My Account page. This will reduce the number of clicks and the amount of scrolling you have to do.

Book Buttons

These multi-colored icons will make finding the special book formats easier. The following "Book Buttons" will appear next to the cover image, on the Quick View pop-up window, on the Title Detail screens, and within your lists. Simply perform a search and scan down the page for these buttons to find the format you want. Watch the site for the Book Buttons shown below!

Jump Start

Save time building your next list!

We have developed a new feature that will take all of the remaining items that could not ship from your last order and place them in a new list on your account automatically for you. The new list is created and named with details from the order that they are left over from.

For instance, those titles that were not available within your required shipping timeline and were not included on your order will now be ready and on a list that you can easily merge with your next order.
