VT.AK.D. Dance Skill Development
AK-K:1. Students show skill development when creating dance by:
AK-K:1.1. Solving simple movement challenges (e.g., Show me how to move on two body parts without using two feet).
AK-K:1.2. Using movement to express a simple idea.
AK-K:1.3. Using the following partner skills: copying, leading, following, and mirroring.
AK-K:1.4. Interpreting a story, piece of music, artwork, play, or learning experience through movement.
AK-K:1.5. Producing one or two nonlocomotor and locomotor movements.
AK-K:2. Students perform/communicate through dance by:
AK-K:2.1. Demonstrating the locomotor skills of walking, running, hopping, jumping.
AK-K:2.2. Demonstrating the non-locomotor skills of bending, stretching, twisting, swinging.
AK-K:2.3. Moving and reproducing one or two nonlocomotor and locomotor movements to a steady beat led by the teacher.
AK-K:3. Students show understanding of dance concepts and vocabulary by:
AK-K:3.1. Demonstrating concepts of dance through copying movements, mirroring, leading, following.

AK-K:10.1. Using line in various media (e.g., pencil, marker, cut-outs, etc.) to create shape and image.
AK-K:10.2. Handling of art tools and materials (e.g., using scissors, paint brushes, and adhesives) in the production of their art work.
AK-K:10.3. Using elements of 2D and 3D design (e.g., 2D - identify color and create using color; 3D - pinch pot).
AK-K:11. Students perform/communicate skills in visual arts by:
AK-K:11.1. Participating in group art activities (e.g., mural, group drawing).
AK-K:11.2. Using media and materials to convey feeling or idea (e.g., make a book about you).
AK-K:12. Students show understanding of visual arts concepts and vocabulary by:
AK-K:12.1. Recognizing and using basic elements and principles (e.g., line, shape and color).
AK-K:12.2. Recognizing different media (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture).
