Bullying continues to be a hot topic for schools across the country and a problem that is seen at every level of education. A bright spot is that there are many organizations and schools that are trying to help, with programs such as awareness groups and clubs. However, ultimate success will require the help of every student and administrator.
Education and awareness are very important, particularly for younger elementary students who have not yet developed the social skills necessary to deal with such a situation. If students are taught how to identify a bully, and seek a resolution early in the situation, what could potentially turn into a tragedy (particularly with older kids) can likely be avoided.
