The New York Times described Dr. Laurie Rozakis as "an incredible researcher, an amazing writer" and an amazon.com reviewer praised her "uplifting and empowering attitude," but she prefers the praise she received from her two children: they call her Mom "Da Bomb"! They even put the nickname on her license plate!

Dr. Rozakis is the author of more than 100 books, including Scholastic's Be a Super Test-Taker!, Scholastic's Get Test Smart, The Portable Jewish Mother (Adams), The Complete Idiot's Guide to Grammar and Style 2nd edition, and Writing Great Research Papers 2nd edition, (McGraw Hill/Schaum).

Dr. Rozakis lives on Long Island with her husband, Bob, an accountant. Her daughter Samantha is a master's candidate at Hofstra University; as an undergraduate, she captained the Pep Band (and played the tuba in it), served as a Resident Advisor, and was the editor-in-chief of the yearbook. Her son Charles, an economic analyst at Lord Abbett, graduated from Princeton University in 2003. Dr. Rozakis is involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Community Library Board. When not being "Da Bomb," she is a professor of English at Farmingdale State College.
