Casey’s was very informative and was fun to read, Casey’s picture of her new Mount Rushmore was also very detailed and depicted the presidents very accurately. Stephanie entered a well-written essay titled “The Black Hill’s New Faces.” I really liked how she started her essay by giving some background information on Mount Rushmore. She wrote a very persuasive essay that kept the reader’s attention by including many interesting facts on the presidents that she chose.
Garrett not only wrote a well thought out essay, but his picture was also amazing! His drawing was very detailed and resembled the presidents perfectly. It was obvious that Garrett spent a lot of time on his writing and drawing. Click on the drawings above to read their essays.
Caley and Mohammed won:
| A signed set of Judith St. George books |
Caley was the only contestant who thought out of the box and decided to use another medium besides a drawing. For her Mount Rushmore she made a papier-maché model of her new and improved mountain with her new presidents on it.
Mohammed entered a wonderful drawing of his new Mount Rushmore. His pictures were very detailed and look very authentic to their actual pictures. He also had many solid facts to back up his presidents that he chose to be on his mountain. Click on the drawings above to read their essays.
Great job to everyone who entered and congratulations to our winners!
