Help Page for Sets and Suggested Booklists
Overview
Perma-Bound.com includes thousands of product sets. These sets come in different quantities and varieties, from author-specific series to thematic grade-level lists to national and state award winners. We also provide sets that have been recommended by state associations and organizations. The Suggested Booklists area takes the most popular of our sets and product series and organizes them by category for browsing convenience.
Sets
When viewing List and Search Results pages, the message, “SET OF XXX ITEMS”, will appear within the Title Information area instead of author, publisher, and date of publication. Click on the title of the set or the "Book Set" icon to view all of the contents of that set.
- Contents - Appears for product sets. Click on the link to examine the contents of that set.
- View - Appears for individual titles. Click on the link to view all the sets which include that title.
Sets Search
You can search for Sets through use of the Advanced Search tool by selecting Sets in the Product Type drop-down box in conjunction with any of the other search criteria. You will be taken to a search results page listing the relevant sets.
Adding Sets to Lists
The process of adding product sets to a custom list is very similar to adding or removing single titles:
- Conduct a search to included product sets. To view the contents of a set, click on the title of that set or the "Book Set" icon.
- Click on "Go to Search Results." Click on the box in the "Add" area beside your chosen set. A checkmark will appear.
- When you are finished with your selections, choose or create a list and click on the blue "Add to list" button. You will see a message, "In List" in red text within the column.
NOTE: Perma-Bound.com’s ordering system designates each product set as a single item. This means that when you have added a set to a custom list and clicked on “Contents” to view the included titles, no checkmarks will be present in the "Add" area - your selected set already includes each of these titles in that set and you will receive them when placing your order.
- Adding multiple quantities. Because our ordering
system designates each product set as a single item, adding multiple
quantities of a title included within a set to a list will cause
those items will appear on your list as separate items.
EXAMPLE: You have added a literature set that includes the novel Slaughterhouse-Five and decided you need 30 additional copies of the novel for your classroom. You can
- To view the contents of a set, click on the title of that set or the "Book Set" icon.
- Click in the "Add" box for Slaughterhouse-Five, and enter "30" in the Qty box. The novel will now appear separately in your custom list with a quantity of 30, and you will receive 31 copies in total - one from the product set as well as the 30 for your classroom.
Including AR Quizzes with Sets
Our ordering system does not include AR quizzes within product sets, even if these quizzes are listed on the contents page for that set. You must select the associated AR Quizzes independently from within a given set, after which they will be displayed on your list as separate products.
- From your list or search results page, click on title of the set. You will be taken to the contents page for that set.
- Click on the "Add Quizzes" drop-down menu choose "Add All Quizzes." You will now see each of the quizzes listed separately with checkmarks in the AR Quiz column.
Removing Products from a Set
Because our ordering system designates each product set as a single item, you cannot remove titles from a set. However, for those cases in which you find yourself wanting to order a particular set minus a few titles, we recommend the following process:
- Add the set to your list.
- Click on "View List" then sort the list in "As Keyed" order. The titles within the set added will appear on the last page of the list.
- Individually remove those items you do not want or need.
Suggested Booklists
The Suggested Booklists area can be reached from throughout Perma-Bound.com by clicking on the link in the main blue banner.
Using Suggested Booklists:
- Click on any of the category-links and browse through the various subcategories until you reach a search results page. From there you can add these sets or individual items to your lists.
- Click on “more...” beside the category-links to view a brief description of that category.

I added a set to my list, but when I proceed to checkout I don’t see the AR Quizzes for the titles included in my set as part of my order or quote - how do I add these quizzes?

I was looking at a printout for my order or quote and noticed it includes unwanted duplicates for many titles - what happened?
You may have navigated to the Contents page for a particular set and then added check-marks for each of the items listed there (unnecessary, because you always receive every title included in a particular set), or you may have added multiple sets to your list and those sets included many common items. If you want to remove these duplicates, consider removing one or more of the sets then adding other desired titles individually. For a description of how to remove products from sets, click here.
